Logging of Canadian boreal forest reinforces need for corporations to switch to forest-free products

We’re losing the ancient forest of the Canadian boreal, one of the world’s most important forests, at a rate of one and a half football fields per minute. Clear-cut trees are no longer sheltering wolves, caribou, elk and birds from across North America. They’re no longer absorbing carbon and helping to regulate our climate. Instead, they’ve been pulped to create extra-soft tissues and toilet paper. In October, Shareholders of Procter & Gamble, Charmin’s parent company, voted for a proposal asking the company to report on its efforts to reduce deforestation and forest degradation in its supply chains, Call on P&G to follow through on that commitment. https://www.change.org/SavetheBoreal submitted by /u/savethebeees1 [link] [comments]Read More
